Ministry Partnership Development 2
We had the first part of Ministry Partnership Development last year and this semester we spent a few days reviewing the principles and materials to use just before we start the official MPD process after graduation. We discussed resources available for displays and presentations such as posters, brochures, pens, videos, visual aids, and interactive skits such as the Placard Skit depicted in this photo when Cameron and I were chosen to represent the tribal missionaries. So many options, so many tools, so little time, and so much pressure! Please pray for us as we slowly begin preparing for the launch of our partnership development after graduation.
Mature Church
After we have learned the national language and culture, the tribal language and culture, taught literacy, created and chronological lessons, taught through the chronological lessons again and then through the book of Acts what do we do then? How do we guide an infant church into a maturing church? How do you go about appointing deacons and elders? What's the process for phasing yourself out of the tribal work and transition the church from dependence on the missionary to dependence on the Lord? The answering of these questions and others was the focus of this class. It was certainly one of our favorite classes thus far and made us excited to see how God will work in our ministry!Phonetics 2
The first part of Phonetics took place back in February of last year and this semester we reviewed the sounds previous learned and then through in the fun and unusual sounds that we pray we never encounter like the African pops and clicks! We have to say that the Tower of Babel was a very bad decision for mankind. It's amazing to hear many of the various, strange and difficult sounds the human mouth can make!Tax Class
"In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes."It may have been 225 years since Benjamin Franklin left this world yet his words still ring true. This past week we had six hours of tax class. All we can say is that we are so thankful for those who enjoy studying the tax laws and are willing to help others!
We have now started our Folk Religions: Islam class and today kicked off our Christian Life 2 class. Exciting things ahead! Thank you all for your support and prayers.
United in Christ,
Caitlin and Cameron
