You're Cordially Invited...

to attend our GRADUATION!!!

If you are reading this right now then that means we are inviting you to come to our graduation ceremony taking place on Friday, April 22nd at 7pm in the evening. You know you've been looking for an excuse to visit Roach, Missouri and what better reason could you possibly have?!

This photo was taken at our graduation from New Tribes Bible Institute in December of 2013 and now we will be graduating from the Missionary Training Center in less than two months! Please note that this upcoming graduation ceremony is much more informal compared to Bible school's as we will not be wearing cap and gowns but we would still love for you to attend if you are able.

While it may be the two of us receiving diplomas that evening, we realize that our diplomas represent all of you as we couldn't have done this alone. We are truly blessed to be encouraged, supported, prayed for and surrounded by so many in the Body of Christ!

Accommodations:
While there is the local Sleep Inn less than ten miles away from the school, you can also look up many of the hotels in Osage Beach as it's only about twenty-five minutes away. If you would like and if you tell us soon, then we can possibly reserve you a guest room here on campus for just $20/night. Driving an RV? No problem! There are also RV sites available on campus with full hook-ups for just $10/night that may be available.

Thank you all for your support and prayers!

United in Christ,

Caitlin and Cameron

Proverbs 16:9

The mind of man plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.

It has been our endeavor to be honest and open concerning our journey with the Lord. We are certainly not perfect people but are imperfect and broken people desiring to serve a perfect God. As we figure out this thing called missions and figure out how to get from Point A (America) to Point B (Asia Pacific), things may get a little messy. This is one of those moments.

As you may recall, we took a linguistics aptitude test during our very first semester here at the Missionary Training Center. While we had originally always intended on taking linguistics, our test scores indicated that our strengths may lie elsewhere thus we decided to drop our pursuit of linguistics. Two months after we posted about our decision to drop linguistics in "Doors Closing, God's Leading," we then wrote stating that we had decided to take it again in "A Practical Lesson in Flexibility." You've probably guessed where this is going.... After participating in the preliminary Linguistics class from May until December, we began to question just how integral Linguistics is to Bible translation. After talking with our churches and asking a few on staff here, we've come to learn that Linguistics has really no direct correlation to translation. The primary purpose for Linguistics is for doing the orthography (creating an alphabet) of a completely oral language. Thus, since it's unnecessary for Bible translation, we have withdrawn from the Linguistics course. We'll leave the lucky job of creating an alphabet to our future teammates!

What does that mean as far as our graduation date? We'll still be graduating April 22nd but instead of beginning Linguistics on April 4th, we will be taking Grammar with the class behind ours since we originally jumped out of it to take Linguistics. We've already taken Literacy and Field Health which occurs at the same time as Grammar so nothing will be missed. This also means that we'll be ending with Phonemics - a class we've been very much looking forward to taking! Thank you for sticking with us as we navigate this journey to Asia Pacific.

United in Christ,

Caitlin and Cameron

We invite you to prayerfully consider partnering with us through regular monthly support or a special gift, as we prepare and train to go and share the Gospel with those who have never heard. When designating which missionary you are supporting, indicate: Cameron Neace Account #900458

One Month, Four Complete!

The semester is not even a month old and we've already finished FOUR classes! Here's a quick look at those we've completed.

Ministry Partnership Development 2

We had the first part of Ministry Partnership Development last year and this semester we spent a few days reviewing the principles and materials to use just before we start the official MPD process after graduation. We discussed resources available for displays and presentations such as posters, brochures, pens, videos, visual aids, and interactive skits such as the Placard Skit depicted in this photo when Cameron and I were chosen to represent the tribal missionaries. So many options, so many tools, so little time, and so much pressure! Please pray for us as we slowly begin preparing for the launch of our partnership development after graduation.

Mature Church

After we have learned the national language and culture, the tribal language and culture, taught literacy, created and chronological lessons, taught through the chronological lessons again and then through the book of Acts what do we do then? How do we guide an infant church into a maturing church? How do you go about appointing deacons and elders? What's the process for phasing yourself out of the tribal work and transition the church from dependence on the missionary to dependence on the Lord? The answering of these questions and others was the focus of this class. It was certainly one of our favorite classes thus far and made us excited to see how God will work in our ministry!

Phonetics 2

The first part of Phonetics took place back in February of last year and this semester we reviewed the sounds previous learned and then through in the fun and unusual sounds that we pray we never encounter like the African pops and clicks! We have to say that the Tower of Babel was a very bad decision for mankind. It's amazing to hear many of the various, strange and difficult sounds the human mouth can make!

Tax Class

"In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes."
It may have been 225 years since Benjamin Franklin left this world yet his words still ring true. This past week we had six hours of tax class. All we can say is that we are so thankful for those who enjoy studying the tax laws and are willing to help others!

We have now started our Folk Religions: Islam class and today kicked off our Christian Life 2 class. Exciting things ahead! Thank you all for your support and prayers.

Caitlin and Cameron

When Life Turns Upside Down

What do you do when life throws you a curve ball? What about when it spins you around and turns the world upside down? Who do you turn to when you don't know who you can turn to?

These questions and many others raced through our minds rapidly this month as we faced the most unexpected and difficult trial of our time here at the Missionary Training Center. Yet, rather than focusing on the events that transpired this month, we want to highlight how God met us when we needed Him the most. How did He do that? Through His church.

When we didn't know what to do in and of ourselves, we sought the counsel of godly individuals by contacting our sending churches and speaking with our pastors, parents and family. We also asked for the prayers of those who knew us that very evening when everything transpired. When we sent out an emergency call to prayer on our ministry partner email list we weren't sure what the response would be. In the height of the storm, we felt the Lord near to us and His comforting peace strengthening us with wisdom and boldness. Our emails became inundated with replies of encouragement, our Facebooks were full of messages of prayer, our phones had a steady beep of texts from people saying they were praying for us, we received calls of concern, our mailbox was flooded with cards filled with Scripture passages, and our friends both here and far away reached out to us. While we may have initially felt alone, it did not take long for us to feel surrounded in the love and prayers of the Body of Christ.

Though the Lord does not always give us the privilege to understand why He allows certain situations to happen, if nothing else we know it was to show us just how many people really do care about us and are actively involved in our lives! We have been brought to the point of tears by the responses of everyone. You were the tangible hands and feet of Christ to us when we needed it most. No matter what the future holds, we know Who holds our future and we have great confidence in knowing that we are truly surrounded and supported by His church.

A simple "thank you" fails to convey the depth of gratitude we feel or to show just how much your prayers and words of encouragement have meant to us. We are truly honored and thankful to belong to such a caring part of the Body of Christ! Please continue to pray for us as there is still a long road ahead of us.

Together in Him,

Caitlin and Cameron
