An Opportunity to Speak

I wanted to send out a quick prayer request. Tomorrow, I will have the opportunity to speak for ten minutes during the worship session at First Baptist Church of Washington, MO about the calling that God has placed upon our hearts. I know that God has opened this door and that He is leading the way, but I am having a lot of fears well up inside.

The church just finished VBS this past week and apparently there was a lot of emphasis upon foreign missions and reaching the world for Christ.

It is exciting to see how the LORD set this up specifically for the Sunday after, but I haven't had a whole lot of practice in public speaking, so you can imagine how nervous I am feeling. I am asking for your prayers as I will be speaking tomorrow during the 10:30 service. Please pray that God will rest His Spirit down upon me, His spirit of wisdom and understanding, counsel and strength, knowledge and the fear of the LORD. - Isaiah 11:2

As I began reading through the book of Exodus this morning, I was reminded of what God Almighty told His servant Moses when he made a similar excuse in Ex. 4:10-12.
Then Moses said to the LORD, "Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither recently or in time past, nor since you have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue." The LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now then go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth, and teach you what you are to say."
Please pray that God would be glorified in being with my mouth and teaching me what to say. For the thing that I desire most is to be covered in the prayers of the saints. Remember me as you approach the throne of God, and please pray that just as He gave us this opportunity, He would also empower me to speak clearly and effectively.

Thank you.

United in Christ,

Cameron & Caitlin

What a great post and what a great opportunity that you can given. Whatever you and your family decide to do whatever doors that need to be open I pray that God would open its doors for you and that you would do an incredible work and we would see the great things of God coming to manifest in those who are suffering and hurting. God is giving you a great ability and sometimes we don't understand why things seem kind of scary, the God has a quick you to do the work that he's called you and your family to do. This is Peter went out to Jesus on the water keep your eyes on Jesus and you will have great success. God bless
