This month has been a whirlwind! We have several things we wish to share about February both in
just general news and also in what the Lord has been teaching us through
classes. However, rather than write a multi-page update, we will spread
them out over the next few days so that it's more readable. We
apologize for not writing more this month. We just hit a super busy spell this
month with homework, jail, commitments, and just life in general! Things
look to be slowing back down to normal so we should be able to write
more this next month and we will be sure to send out a follow-up about
how tomorrow goes! What's happening tomorrow??? Read on to find out about the exciting opportunity we have been given!
What have we been learning in class this past month? From the title you can probably guess that Caitlin and I have been learning Phonetics and this has been one of our main calsses. Phonetics is the study of speech sounds. We have learned that the human mouth can make a nearly infinite number of sounds! Vowels, consonants, aspiration verses non-aspiration, glottals, glides, voiced verses non-voiced, tone, stress - and we're only halfway through our introductory course. This class certainly exercises our minds! While it is challenging at times, we are really enjoying it and we have found that an area where one of us is struggling, the other finds easier and vice-versa.
Last weekend we came up to Union, Missouri for a quick visit. It was literally a short visit as we were only there for less than 24hrs. In our short time we were able to visit First Baptist Church of Villa Ridge and attend their Saturday evening service. It was such a blessing to see everyone again as we hadn't been there since December. Not only that, but we found out that we had been randomly selected to be the "Mission Moment" for the weekend! The pastor invited us to come forward after the service and many from the congregation came forward and prayed for us. It was so encouraging to be surrounded by the Body of Christ like we were that evening! We also spent time going through some of my childhood
treasures my parents had saved through the years. It was quite fun
reliving my childhood by seeing some of my old toys, drawings, and even a
baby outfit.Prayer Request for TOMORROW
We have VERY exciting news! Tomorrow morning we will be sharing at First Baptist Church of Union about what we are doing! This will be our first time speaking at a church together. Please be praying for us that will:
- Be effective communicators
- Share what the Lord has placed on our hearts
- Encourage others to get involved in the work God is doing around the world and here in America
- Perhaps even encourage someone to pursue missions!
Thank you all for your support and prayers as they mean a lot to us!
United in Christ,
Cameron and Caitlin
